What's on the Horizon ?

Oral Health Practitioners , focus on a wide spectrum of preventive oral health procedures that involve hands-on work within a patient’s oral cavity.

This role is designed to complement the functions of other dental professionals,

On the prescription of a dentist,  your responsibilities encompass various tasks, including assessing dental bacterial plaque indices and debris scores, administering fluoride varnish, capturing clinical photographs, taking impressions, and conducting tooth brushing within the patient’s mouth.

Oral Health Practitioners often operate independently in community settings, where they disseminate oral health education and awareness to the general public.

Is this the next step for you?

Available Funding - The Janet Goodwin Educational Grant

The Oral Health Foundation and the British Association of Dental Nurses has brought forth the Janet Goodwin Educational Grant.

It allows dental nurses to receive financial support for their educational growth.

This grant is available to trainee dental nurses self-funding their dental nursing exams, providing up to £500 for course and examination fees.

It also recognises the value of ‘upskilling’  qualified dental nurses, enabling them to enhance their roles within the dental team through post-qualification education.

By empowering dental nurses to expand their capabilities, this grant aims to elevate job satisfaction, staff retention, and overall patient experiences in the dental field.

Have you thought of upskilling?

The time is now!
